Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan’s hug made the maximum buzz at the 9th Renault Star Guild Awards; but it was Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Deepika Padukone’s Chennai Express performance that won everyone’s heart.




The evening which became one of the most spectacular events of the year, was hosted by none other than Salman Khan and stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhu Dheva performed on foot tapping numbers from their movies. Apart from these scintillating performances, it was Sallu Bhaai’s wit and sense of humour jisne samaa baandh diya! Salman was at his comic best while hosting the event. Beyonce's self-titled album claimed the top spot on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart for the third week running with 310,000 copies sold during the Christmas week, according to figures released Thursday from Nielsen SoundScan.

The pop star's fifth solo album has sold a total of 1.3 million copies in the United States in the 17 days from its surprise release through December 29, the final day for tallying this week's chart.

"Beyonce" is the first album to remain at No. 1 for three weeks since Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" did the same in April, Billboard said.

The album, Beyonce's first since 2011, was released December 13 exclusively through Apple's iTunes digital music store and was not available in other retailers until December 21.

British-Irish boy band One Direction's "Midnight Memories" moved up one notch to No. 2 with 142,000 copies sold in the week, while rapper Eminem moved to No. 3 from No. 6 with "Marshall Mathers LP 2" selling 122,000 copies. Billboard said both titles likely benefited from redemptions of gift cards for download stores.

With Christmas albums like country pop singer Kelly Clarkson's "Wrapped in Red" and "Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" both dropping down in the chart, the soundtrack from the animated movie "Frozen" and Katy Perry's "PRISM" moved up to round out the top five.

Week-over-week album sales dropped 11 percent for the week ending December 29. Sales last week were down 3 percent from the same period last year and album sales for the year were 8 percent lower than 2012.

Pitbull's "Timber," a song featuring Ke$ha, retook the No. 1 spot on the digital track list with 442,000 downloads last week.

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is finally putting end to all speculations surrounding her personal life. And if reports are to be believed then the Bengali actress will tie the knot with her longtime beau Aditya Chopra in February this year.

According to a report published in a leading daily, Rani and Aditya, who have always kept media guessing about their relationship, will get married on February 10 at the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur.

Reportedly Rani Mukerji zeroed in on the venue during Nita Ambani's birthday bash last year. Rani was there at the Umaid Bhawan for the 50th birthday celebrations of Nita Ambani.

The couple was supposed to tie the knot last year but due to the sudden demise of Aditya's father and late filmmaker Yash Chopra in October 2012 it was postponed.

The wedding will be held in traditional Punjabi style. Rani is currently gearing up for her next movie 'Mardani', where she will essay the role of a police officer.

Everyone are talking about this Ajab Ranbir-Katrina ki Ghazab Prem Kahani... They were spotted going lovey-dovey on beaches, having quite private eat-out along with their respective mommies, movie dates, parties.... And what not...! But wait, they don't seem to agree publicly that they are in relationship either deny such gossips.

For some time now the wagging tongues had been talking about their alleged engagement that will be held this year (2014). IT'S tempting to watch this film and wonder what could have been. Paul Walker, who died last month in a car crash, ventures as far away as he can from his Fast & Furious roles for this film about a father trying desperately to keep his newly born daughter alive, stranded alone in a hospital as Hurricane Katrina strikes.

Walker also produced this film while it's the debut directorial venture of Heisserer (the screenplay writer of films such as Nightmare on Elm Street and The Final Destination 5). They could have been pardoned for feeling the need to prove something. But creditably, they don't, letting the events speak for themselves.

Nolan (Walker) has walked into a New Orleans hospital with his wife in premature labour at 2 am just as Hurricane Katrina is gathering full strength. Within five hours, his wife has died and his child has been kept in a ventilator. Within the next few, the hospital has been evacuated but for those that can't be moved. A few more hours and Nolan realises he is practically the only one left in the hospital with his child. The power goes, so does the back-up, and as the battery starts running out, Nolan manages to discover an old one that needs winding every 2 minutes or so.

He will spend more than 42 hours in that situation, without power, cranking up the battery every 2 minutes, filling up his daughter's saline drip, and somehow managing to sustain himself on dwindling supplies and creeping witness. Any options he hunts for also have to be structured around that two-minute window.

Heisserer, who also wrote Hours, keeps the film engrossing despite the confines of the story, putting Nolan in risks of different forms. And of course we can't get the picture of that helpless baby wrapped in just a towel and a cap out of our heads. The lives of the two are intrinsically linked and the film knows that, and plays on it well.

Aamir Khan has struck gold at the box office - with 'Dhoom: 3' continuing to grow worldwide and domestic. Aamir Khan's 'Dhoom: 3' has collected Rs 250 crore in the domestic market as of January 1.

On the first day of the new year, 'Dhoom: 3' collected nearly Rs 10 crore totaling to Rs 250 crore. Film critic Taran Adarsh gave the official figures.

In Hindi language the film collected Rs 10.40 cr; in Tamil and Telugu Rs 0.38 cr bringing the total to Rs 10.78 Cr and consequently the grand total to Rs 252.70 cr.

He further summed up the second week collection for the action thriller film: "#Dhoom3 [Week 2]: Hindi ₹ 61.81 cr, Tamil & Telugu ₹ 1.91 cr. Total: Hindi ₹ 240.78 cr, Tamil & Telugu ₹ 11.92 cr. Grand total: ₹ 252.70."

Meanwhile globally 'Dhoom: 3' shattering all records, had collected above Rs 300 crore. In United Kingdom the film has collected Rs 20.24 (as of 29-Dec-2013); In United States of America and Canada the film has collected Rs 42.13 (as of 31-Dec-2013); in United Arab Emirates/G.C.C. Rs 32.47 and in Austraila + New Zealand 10.31(as of 29-Dec-2013) and in Pakistan Rs 7.25 (as of 26-Dec-2013) bringing the grand total to Rs 365.11 crore.

Also starring Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, 'Dhoom: 3' released on December 20.

'Dhoom: 3' may continue to grow in the first week of January as there are no significant releases. However in the second week dancing diva Madhuri Dixit is all set to make a comeback with deceit-romance film 'Dedh Ishqiya'.

Kate Winslet, the Oscar-winning mother of three who got her start in Hollywood at a fairly young age, is a little worried about Miley Cyrus.

"You hear horror stories where you think, 'God, who's looking after these people and why does it seem like they're losing their way?'" Winslet reportedly told Psychologies magazine (via The Independent). "I mean, you think about someone like Miley Cyrus, and I said to my daughter the other day, 'I'm this close to opening my mouth about what's going on with that girl.' Who is actually saying, 'Stop for a second. What do you want, who are you?'"

Winslet compared Cyrus' fame-laden upbringing to her own, saying she's "just been very lucky that I've always been quite comfortable with who I am." Winslet, who started her career on television, nabbed her breakout role in 1992, when she was cast in Peter Jackson's acclaimed "Heavenly Creatures." She rose through a steady wave of success to the top of the Hollywood ladder throughout the rest of the '90s, earning her first Oscar nomination in 1995 for "Sense and Sensibility."

Now, at the age of 38, Winslet joins a chorus of celebrities who've chimed in on Cyrus' youthful antics. Cher, Sinead O'Connor, P!nk, Annie Lennox, Elton John and Joan Rivers are among the stars who've expressed their concern over Cyrus' raunchy career moves during the past year.

Winslet attributes the culture of social media to Cyrus' intensifying salaciousness, labeling today's atmosphere a "nightmare" for young stars.

"It's really rough now," Winslet said. "I think, for young actors, actresses and pop stars, it's a nightmare. They can't do anything. I'm so not going near that whole world -- I don't need it. I do feel incredibly lucky."

If all goes well, the Bollywood box office will belong to Shahrukh Khan this Diwali — his much-awaited film Happy New Year is scheduled for an October 23 release. An official source told IANS: “Happy New Year will be a Diwali release.”

It will be officially announced through the film’s first poster, which will be launched Thursday on the movie’s social media pages – Twitter and Facebook.

Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd., is being positioned uniquely as a musical heist. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

Farah and Shahrukh’s past associations in films like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om have turned out to be gold spinners. They are doing every bit to spread the right kind of buzz about Happy New Year.

The film’s social media platforms have been very active and their first topic ‘wacky wishes’ has been trending on Twitter.
